Secondary Breast Cancer Support Group
The group meets four times a year in venues across the county, bringing together secondary breast cancer patients to chat over coffee and to hear from guest speakers. Recent topics have included how to manage exercise while living with breast cancer, and the role of complementary therapies. Email wah-tr.secondarybreastcancerreferrals@nhs.net to find out more.
There is also a patient-led WhatsApp group, please ask your BCN for more information.

Secondary Breast Cancer Fitness Classes
These fitness classes are specially designed for people living with secondary breast cancer and are led by qualified cancer exercise specialist Leighton Bentley.
Regular exercise can play an important role in supporting your overall health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Improving your fitness and stamina may help you continue with everyday activities, enjoy the things you love, and better manage treatment side effects.
Classes are delivered in small groups of up to five people, allowing Leighton to tailor exercises to individual fitness levels and goals in a safe and supportive environment. The group setting also offers the opportunity to connect with and gain encouragement from others living with secondary breast cancer.
Classes run in two blocks of six weeks on a Saturday morning, and are funded by WBUH (there is a small, suggested donation for the second block of six at £5 per session). Please contact your breast care nurse or email corinna.parsons@nhs.net to find out more and book for the next available group.

Look Good Feel Better
Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven is proud to host these wonderful, confidence-boosting workshops, led by the Look Good Feel Better charity – View Website
We host 2-3 closed sessions each year exclusively for people living with secondary breast cancer, creating a supportive environment where you can connect with others who understand.
Focused on skincare and make-up, trained volunteer beauty experts from Look Good Feel Better will teach you how to look after your skin, whilst talking through any side-effects you might have, such as dryness. They will explain which products might benefit you and then teach you how to apply a basic, natural makeup.
Not only do workshops help people to manage the cosmetic and physical impact of their cancer treatment, but they offer an invaluable opportunity to talk to others in a similar situation, meaning participants leave feeling confident, empowered and less isolated.
Workshops are held in the Kildare Meeting Room at the Worcestershire Breast Unit on site at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, WR5 1DD.
Remaining 2026 dates for the closed sessions:
Please contact corinna.parsons@nhs.net to find out more and to book your place.

Complementary therapies
Through a clinical referral from the Secondary Breast Care Nurses, the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven is able to fund a limited number of complementary therapy sessions for patients.
WBUH can fund up to £250 for each referred patient, enabling access to sessions in one of nine approved, evidence-based complementary therapies that may help alleviate side effects associated with treatment:
