About Us

About the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity

The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven is a small, local breast cancer charity based within the Worcestershire Breast Unit.  We work closely with the NHS Breast clinical team to provide additional support and services for breast patients across Worcestershire beyond those available through the NHS alone.

Established in 2016, the charity was created to support everyone diagnosed with breast cancer in Worcestershire, building on the outstanding previous work of the Worcestershire Breast Unit campaign.

Our mission is to provide compassionate, practical and emotional support to those affected by breast cancer in Worcestershire, helping them feel informed, empowered and never alone.   We support patients from the point of diagnosis throughout the challenges of treatment and place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and recovery after treatment. This includes services designed to improve physical strength and stamina, as well as providing valuable peer support opportunities that promote emotional wellbeing and mental health.

All our care is free to patients.

We are an independent charity, entirely reliant on fundraising from the local community and grants from local Trusts. In order for Worcestershire Breast Unit charity to exist and meet the needs of local people, we need to raise in excess of £300,000 a year.
