HealthZone App

HealthZone app – Worcestershire Cancer Services 

The HealthZone app has been developed by the Living With and Beyond Cancer team at Macmillan and includes information from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Cancer Services.

The app features:

  • Information about the hospitals, treatments you may have, and the teams you may meet.
  • Information about services that may help you e.g. Macmillan Cancer Support, Citizen’s Advice
  • Support groups and events happening near you
  • Patient stories
  • Signposting to other services and organisations which may be able to offer support
  • Contact information for services involved in your care

Macmillan

Macmillan –

  • HOPE course

The HOPE course – Help to Overcome Problems Effectively – has been developed to support patients after cancer treatment. It is a free, six-week course with each session running for approximately 2 ½ hours.  

The course gives you a chance to share your experiences and get support from others who are going through the same thing.  In turn, this helps to strengthen your coping skills for dealing with concerns such as anxiety, fatigue and worry for the future.

HOPE can help you:

  • regain your confidence so you feel more like yourself
  • use relaxation techniques for your mind and body
  • cope with anger, anxiety, depression and uncertainty
  • handle stressful situations
  • plan for your future
  • use your potential to make the most of your life.

  • Take Control workshops – Breast Cancer

These are one-day workshops in Worcester giving you the chance to meet other people living with and beyond breast cancer.  A chance to learn to how to promote a healthy lifestyle and get advice about coping with stress, fatigue and facing the future.

Happy Feet Fitness

Happy Feet Fitness – led by mother and daughter team, Marie and Rhiannon, Happy Feet Fitness is there to help you take those first steps to becoming and staying active.   There are many courses on offer including the Walking to Fitness group, Couch to 5k courses, and the 5k and Beyond groups. Or you could choose a run/walk group, fortnightly long run, 5-10k course or even half marathon training.

Yeleni Therapy & Support

Yeleni Therapy & Support

Yeleni is a complementary health centre and cancer charity based in the centre of Hereford.  The centre offers free personalised health support to anyone living with any cancer, and also to your main carer.

A programme of complementary therapy sessions is put together from a wide selection of therapies, and dedicated therapists are there to support your mental, emotional and physical health as you move through their cancer journey.
